and a woman that i know from my home town just got shot in the head by her boyfriend last week while i was on vaca with my girls.

her daughters were shot too. they lived and are in stable condition.

the woman i know/knew is dead

fucked world - totally fucked

say some prayers for her daughters - they are now without a mom

Dear God, dire, that is horrifying.

And I received terrible news this weekend, too: a very good guy I know, generous, charitable with his time, jack-of-all-trades family man, was working on a tree trimming job, fell and broke his neck. Prognosis is paralysis from mid-torso down.
